A landmark luxury development on Marbella’s eastern edge is moving forward once again, as new administrative milestones bring the long-awaited €650 million Four Seasons resort closer to reality.

Originally announced in 2018 with a symbolic foundation ceremony, the project was hailed as one of Andalucía’s most significant tourism investments. However, progress has been slowed in recent years due to complex urban planning procedures, with final approval of the partial development plan only secured in 2021.

The recently approved urbanisation project covers approximately 35 hectares and includes 26,000 square metres of new road infrastructure, along with more than 100,000 square metres designated for public facilities. The next step involves submitting sectoral reports to various public administrations, while developers prepare to file a land redistribution plan in the coming days.

Major infrastructure improvements are also planned for the surrounding area. These include the installation of noise barriers along both sides of the A-7 motorway, a new pedestrian bridge at Teniente Riera Street, an extension of the existing service road, a north–south tunnel, and a new roundabout to improve accessibility.

The development will feature a Grand Luxury Four Seasons Hotel with approximately 200 rooms, alongside a collection of high-end private residences and apartments under the brand’s hotel-and-residential concept. Founded in 1960, Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts operates more than 120 luxury properties worldwide and is widely regarded as one of the most prestigious names in global hospitality.

In addition to the hotel and residences, the resort is set to include multiple restaurants, beach clubs, wellness facilities, and conference spaces. Once completed, the project is expected to further strengthen Marbella’s position as a leading international destination for investors, property buyers, and luxury tourism.
