Puerto Banús, the iconic marina in Marbella known for its luxury shopping, has recorded an 8.9% increase in high-end retail sales this summer compared to the same period last year. According to Juan Núñez, CEO of the marina, this surge in sales has been primarily driven by international tourists, who make up 75% of the purchases. The U.S. and Middle East markets have played a key role in fueling this growth.
If this positive trend continues for the remainder of the year, Puerto Banús is expected to close 2024 with a total of 307 million euros in sales from its luxury boutiques. This would have a significant economic impact on Marbella, both in terms of job creation and income generation for the local economy.
As the largest concentration of luxury retail outlets in Spain after Madrid, Puerto Banús continues to be a premier destination for affluent shoppers worldwide, further solidifying its reputation as a luxury shopping hub on the Costa del Sol.
