Marbella has reached a new milestone in its tourism sector, recording its highest ever level of hotel employment for the month of February. A total of 2,990 people were employed in local hotels, marking a 7.5 percent increase compared to the same period in 2025.

According to Spain’s National Statistics Institute, the data also reflects positive trends in visitor behaviour. The average hotel room price exceeded 136 euros, while the average length of stay increased to 2.87 nights, highlighting a growing preference for longer visits.

In total, Marbella welcomed 31,909 guests, generating more than 91,600 overnight stays. The average occupancy rate stood at 51.4 percent, with revenue per available room reaching around 70 euros.

Despite some indicators showing slight declines compared to last year, the overall performance remains strong, particularly considering external factors such as adverse weather, geopolitical uncertainty and rail connectivity challenges.

Marbella’s Director-General for Tourism, Laura de Arce, described the results as especially positive for what was an atypical month, underlining the resilience and continued appeal of the destination.
