COVID-19 IN SPAIN
Spain is currently a safe destination thanks to the prevention measures that have been put in place throughout the country.There are many precautions that have been imposed by the government to ensure an optimal safety with early detection, tracking infections and a quarantine for localised cases. Tourist services are applying safety protocols following the Ministry of Health instructions, working hand in hand with the public and private tourism institutions.
You can visit Spain as long as you come from the European Union or a Schengen area, or from another country which has exceptional agreements with the country for travellers. This includes the following countries: Canada, China, Japan, Morocco, Australia, New Zealand, Rwanda, South Korea, Thailand, Tunisia and Uruguay. Some countries have special restrictions or a quarantine period when arriving from Spain such as: The Netherlands, Austria, Belgium, Canada, South Korea, Denmark, Slovenia, Georgia, Greece, Italy, Norway, Japan, Poland, United Kingdom, Switzerland, Tunisia and Uruguay. Every traveller needs to fill in a health control form and sign it electronically before travelling to Spain. You can access this form and sign it here. After you sign this form you will receive a QR code which you have to present upon arrival in Spain. This form is unique to each trip and person.
For safety reasons, only people with a boarding pass are allowed to enter the airports. Spanish airports have a health check protocol for each traveller. This health check includes: temperature check, documents control, visual examinations to make sure the passenger is in good health. The Health Control Form must be presented here.
Everybody who is more than 6 years old must wear a mask in public spaces and public transport in Spain. In addition, we highly recommend always desinfecting your hands after touching objects that are often touched by others. We highly recommend keeping your mask on when you are in a public area. TRAVELLING WITHIN SPAIN
It is allowed to travel within the Spanish territory with just a few exceptions, restricted to small areas. If you are not sure about where you can travel, please feel free to ask the police or the Guardia Civil. You may also call the information helpline or check on the official websites of the government. The train and bus stations include guidelines about the higiene measures.
HOTELS & RESTAURANTS
Accommodation in Spain is accessible, as long as the reception and communal areas respect the limited occupancy. Restaurants have included QR menus to avoid direct contact from one client to another. The maximum capacity of 10 people per diner. Booking in advance is highly recommended to secure a table. A distance of 1,5 meters between tables has been put in place in all restaurants and cafés. Smoking is strictly prohibited in all terraces.
Public beaches have free access but the local police is keeping control over the social distancing. Speakers have been installed in some beaches to remind people to keep their distance among each other. In a windy weather, the social distancing should be more than 2 meters. Masks are highly recommended and in some areas mandatory. Showers and hand operated taps are closed. Beach clubs should respect the regulations of restaurants and bars.
Nightclubs and discotheques are currently closed. Bars and restaurant must close before 1AM and no client after 00.00 is allowed in. A distance of 1,5 meters is mandatory between tables and people at the bar counter. There should not be more than 10 people per table. Smoking is strictly prohibited on terraces.
The Costa del Sol offers a wide range of outdoor activities to enjoy a top quality of life, even during the COVID situation. Indeed, it is possible to go out for a pleasant walk and the promenade, enjoy hiking and nature activities, play tennis, paddle, golf and many other outdoor sports respecting the social distancing.
