United Airlines has announced the return of its direct daily flight between Málaga and New York, beginning this Friday, May 2, 2025. The service will operate daily until September 24, 2025, offering travelers a direct connection between the Costa del Sol and the United States. This marks the third consecutive year that United Airlines has included Málaga as a key destination in its European flight network.

The success of this route in previous years has led to an expansion of the service, with United Airlines increasing the frequency to a daily flight. A total of 51,000 seats will be available this summer, a 280% increase in capacity compared to 2023. The Málaga-New York route is the only direct flight linking Andalucia with the United States, making it an essential connection for both leisure and business travelers.

The flight departs from Málaga at 9:35 AM local time, arriving in New York’s Newark Airport at 12:10 PM local time. The first flight of the season will land in Málaga at 7:35 AM this Friday after departing Newark at 5:50 PM the previous day.

This route will be operated on a Boeing 757-200 aircraft, offering 176 seats, including 16 United Polaris business class beds, 42 Economy Plus seats, and 160 seats in standard Economy class. In addition to this direct connection, United Airlines will also continue flying from other Spanish cities, including Madrid, Barcelona, Palma de Mallorca, and Bilbao.

United Airlines’ flights from Málaga to New York cater to the growing demand from American tourists visiting the Costa del Sol and Andalucia, which has seen a 10% growth in American tourism over the past year. The US is now the sixth largest market for both tourism and real estate in the region.

The airline is optimistic about the future of the Málaga-New York route and is looking to expand the service to operate year-round, further strengthening its commitment to Andalucia and connecting the region with key global destinations.
